A divorce can be either contested or uncontested. An uncontested divorce may be a case in which there are few property or debt issues, and perhaps no children of the marriage. In these cases, the defending spouse may not even show up at court, and the timeframe is typically not more than three or four months. In a contested case, there are one or more issues about which you and your spouse do not agree, such as property division, support, or child custody, and as a result these cases will take much longer. In a contested case, both sides have attorneys, and the typical case can take six months to a year or more.

Mr. Priestap’s retainer fee for divorces is flexible, and his hourly rate is usually $150.00 per hour when applicable. We offer a free consultation for all cases.
